The MLRR is an all-volunteer organization dedicated to finding permanent homes for rescued Labrador Retrievers. Labs are fostered in loving homes until they are adopted. The foster homes evaluate the temperament and training of the Labrador. Applications from out of state are considered on a case-by-case basis. Once approved, the family must travel to Chicago to pick up the Labrador.

Boone is an eight-year-old Labrador who arrived at Lab Rescue due to his family’s circumstances.

He is a happy-go-lucky dog who enjoys attention and a good car ride. He is a lovable, playful pup who walks well on a leash. But he’s a bit of a Houdini when it comes to fences. He’ll need close supervision when outdoors and a training program to become his best self.

A CVI must be obtained before a dog is brought into Wisconsin. A CVI is an official document that proves that a dog is free of infectious diseases and is properly vaccinated. These documents should be given to the new owner upon purchase. If the dog is being brought from another state, it will require an interstate CVI. It’s not necessary to become a nonprofit organization to help a dog enter Wisconsin.
