Knoxville Golden Retriever Rescue

The Knoxville Golden Retriever Rescue was established in 1992 to assist the needy and homeless pets of Knox County. Many different types of dogs are taken into the program, regardless of their breeds or condition. These dogs are always safe with the staff and they are all spayed or neutered before being put up for adoption. Since so many people adopt golden retrievers, many families do not have enough room for them. The program was started by a couple who found the need and wanted to help by making sure these dogs were healthy and loved. Every month, they will do an adoption fair where everyone can take dogs to see if they would be a good addition to their home. Families with more than one dog can adopt both at once to save on their animal care fees.

The Knoxville Golden Retriever Rescue is not only about adopting a golden retriever but it also about helping those in need. Volunteers from all over the country will travel to help the volunteers. They work with local shelters to find homes for the animals that are going to be put up for adoption. If the shelter cannot take a certain type of dog or a specific age, there is a possibility they will offer the dog and help you find a home for it. You should never think that the dogs are being put up for adoption if they are in good health because they will not be.

Volunteers work with the staff to help adoptions go smoothly. The staff always knows what needs to be done and all staff members work hard to make sure the program is successful. So it is important to start out a new and healthy golden retriever by adoption before going to other rescues. This way you will get the dog for less than what you would pay for a purebred. With this in mind, you will not regret your decision.
