Great Dane Rescue San Antonio

Great Dane Rescue San Antonio

The Great Dane Rescue San Antonio was founded by Jo Ellen Cockroft, a great dane owner, and 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. The organization is an all-volunteer organization dedicated to saving giant breeds from shelters. While the group has had setbacks, they are still going strong and continue to find homes for these magnificent dogs. Although it’s an all-volunteer organization, it has faced challenges and is a success story in its first year.

Foster care for a rescued Great Dane involves caring for a dog like your own but with some additional benefits.

You will get a crate, heartworm prevention, support, and medical care. When you apply for foster care, complete the foster care application found in the Forms section. Mark “Foster” to indicate you are willing to foster a dog. If you are approved, you do not need to pay a processing fee.

Once you have decided to adopt a Great Dane from a rescue group or shelter, be sure to get the dog checked out by a veterinarian.

Make sure the dog’s veterinarian and home have been checked. Adopting a Great Dane from a shelter can be a good option for both of you. A home inspection and vet check are great ways to ensure that you’re adopting a healthy dog with a good personality.
