There may be some health issues that you have to take care of yourself. This can cost a lot of money. But with the help of a professional at a corgi rescue, you should be fine.
You will also need to have a health certificate. If you don’t, you will run the risk of your dog developing some diseases.
They should have a record of this. But if they don’t have it, ask for it. At least now you know you have someone that can look into that for you.

As such, you will need to do your research, ask around, and try to see what kind of personality the dog has before making any final decisions.

All you need to do is take it to one of their instructors and have them take over training for the dog. Then you have free rein of your pet and can play around with it as much as you want.
