A Rottweiler Puppy
If you’re interested in getting a Rottweiler, you need to know some basic information before you decide to adopt one. First and foremost, it’s important to realize that Rottweilers are not a “small” dog. It’s actually not advisable to get a Rottie if you have limited space, as the dog can be a big problem if left alone in an apartment.
The Rottweilers are a large breed of dog, considered medium to medium-large. The dogs were originally called Rottweilers Metzgerhunds, meaning ranchers’ dogs, due to their primary function being to herd cattle. Some claim that the original Rottweilers were bred by ranchers and later on farmers, although there is no conclusive proof of this.
Because they are a large and quite large breed, they tend to be quite a handful, although most people find the idea of owning such a small dog. Some people have been known to carry around a Rottie with them, while others do their best to keep the animal inside.
As mentioned, the Rottwiler is also a very active dog and has the capability of being a very good guard dog, as well as being a good watchdog. As such, you should be aware that they do require a lot of exercises to remain fit and healthy, so unless you can keep them inside for most of the day, it’s not advisable to get one.
Many people are hesitant to get Rottweilers because they feel it is a bit dangerous.
They do tend to be aggressive, and many people who own them also experience some type of aggression towards humans or other animals, although this tends to subside as they get older.
Rottweilers are incredibly strong dogs and can be a little bit stubborn at times, as well. Although they are considered somewhat stubborn, that’s normal for a breed like this, as they need to be encouraged to become more independent. This is another reason why Rottie owners often have problems bonding with their dogs: they are too eager to make sure their dogs have the best of everything, while their dogs are often more laid back.
Rottweilers are also not overly intelligent and therefore aren’t suited to those with young children. They need plenty of time spent with the family and should never be left to be alone. They should also be given enough attention to eat and drink, so they won’t become overweight. Also, they are prone to barking at strangers, which can annoy neighbors and others around the neighborhood.
Some people believe that Rottweilers are prone to separation anxiety, although this is rare and is generally caused by some sort of trauma to their families. Usually, it takes quite a long time before these dogs fully recover from this type of emotional trauma, but if you want a Rottweiler puppy, make sure you do your homework in advance and find out all you can about Rottweilers.
Although many people think Rottweilers are hard to deal with, they make great family pets and make great companions for young children. Just be careful when you buy them, and don’t get one if you’re not prepared to provide for them.
