Golden Retriever Rescue Georgia
Founded in 1991, Golden Retriever Rescue Georgia (GRRA) is a non-profit, all-volunteer organization dedicated to saving and rehabilitating dogs. GRRA provides veterinary care, a comprehensive evaluation, and foster homes for Goldens. The organization is an excellent place to adopt a dog if you are unable to keep it due to a lack of space or money.
Among its many services, Adopt a Golden Atlanta fosters the Goldens in need by finding them permanent homes. This prevents the dogs from becoming strays or contributing to the shelter overpopulation crisis. The nonprofit is run by a volunteer board of directors, with 14 members and a team of volunteers. Donations are accepted by PayPal or cash. To donate, click here. You can make a tax-deductible donation through PayPal or by check.
Don’t forget to check local Golden Retriever clubs for dogs in need.
These clubs will often have information about available dogs and help adopters find them. You can also join Golden Retriever Facebook groups and try to find an adoptable Golden on your own. Hopefully, you’ll find a loving new home for a Golden in Atlanta. If not, there are still ways to find a Golden in Georgia. Here are some suggestions:
Another place to find a Golden is a Golden Retriever shelter in Georgia. Golden Retriever Rescue of Atlanta, Inc. is based in Peachtree, GA, and provides care and temporary housing to animals that have been surrendered by their owners. They may offer additional services as well. Its mission is to protect and care for the animals it takes in. However, please remember to donate. It will go a long way toward saving these wonderful animals.
Goldens are playful dogs. They enjoy playing catch and carrying objects in their mouth. They are also remarkably calm indoors. They thrive on human company and are known to be easy to train. Goldens are incredibly eager to learn, and learning is a breeze. And they are very docile – a great trait for a pet! The American Kennel Club officially recognized Golden Retrievers in 1927.
