The mission of German Shepherd Rescue East Tennessee is to help find loving homes for rescued dogs. We provide medical care, temperament evaluation, rehabilitation, and training for German Shepherd Dogs. Our goal is to find them homes, which is how we became involved in the German Shepherd Rescue movement. We are a non-profit organization dedicated to helping German Shepherd Dogs and their owners find a new life. German Shepherd Dogs are a wonderful breed of dog and we are proud to support the organization.

The rescue organization’s website promotes volunteer efforts to help place German Shepherds in loving homes. You can browse through available dogs, fill out an adoption application, and learn about their adoption principles. You can even adopt one of their German Shepherds! But before you apply, it’s important to know what you’re getting yourself into. German Shepherds are not for everyone. They require a job, socialization, and lots of interaction with other dogs.

The German Shepherd Rescue of East Tennessee recently adopted two German Shepherd mixes named Veda and Winslow.

HPAN paid for their vaccinations, surgeries, and spay. The rescue paid for the surgeries and rabies vaccines for the dogs. This is a significant help for dogs suffering from a medical condition. HPAN, a national nonprofit, will also pay for medical treatment for their foster dogs. While they are a great way to support German Shepherd rescues, please consider donating to help these dogs.

If your dog experiences an allergic reaction to something in the environment, try an antihistamine to counteract the effects of the reaction. Antihistamines are medications that block the release of histamines by the adrenal gland. Try to eliminate the allergen and see if the symptoms clear up. If they still persist, you should consider a full examination. If they don’t respond to an antihistamine, they may be suffering from parasites or have an underlying health condition.
