Bull Terrier Art
Artist Rafael Mantesso paints portraits of his bull terrier Jimmy Choo, then illustrates the background for the portraits. He shares the hilarious results on Instagram, where he has nearly 50,000 followers. The project began after his wife and he split. His house was empty and white, but he tried to pose Jimmy to capture the best shots. His photos have since become popular, and he has created a series of prints of bull terriers with the most famous artists.
While the breed has been popular among breeders and collectors since the late 1800s, it only came into its own in the art world during the 1950s. Bull terrier art was made popular in the United States by Ken Bailey, a commercial illustrator, and former advertising photographer.
