Golden Retriever Training Tip – How to Get Your Puppy or Adult Golden Retriever to Listen and Respond to You
The Bay Area Golden Retriever Rescue aims to provide loving homes for abandoned and retired Golden Retrievers. They strive to improve the health and well-being of these great dogs and to contribute to their humane society by promoting responsible dog ownership.
They strive to build a foundation for future rescue organizations to ensure that each dog is happy and healthy and ready to get a good home. There are many things to do to help the Retrievers flourish in their new homes, and the volunteers at the Rescue are happy to welcome any new member.
The mission of the BGRR is to rescue unwanted and unhealthy dogs and to bring them to loving, secure homes where they will be able to grow and thrive. If you want to help the Bay Area Golden Retriever Rescue, you can visit their website, or call their phone number to make an appointment to come and meet the dogs.
They can also use words to communicate with those who may not be able to see or hear them; they have a website with lots of information. If someone has made an appointment but has not yet arrived, they can call you two hours later, and you can come and visit. All you need to do is ask when you can come, and the volunteers will arrange for your visit.
The volunteers at the BGRR encourage people who love dogs to adopt their dogs.
If you would like to adopt a dog, you may call the rescue, and one of the volunteers will tell you how to adopt a Golden Retriever, give you a name and contact information. If you are unable to come for a visit, the volunteers will use words to communicate with you, and they will arrange for someone to visit you in just a few hours.
If you are unable to come for a visit in person, the BGRR staff can use words to communicate with you, either by mail, email, or on the phone. If you call them, the staff can use a computer message system to speak directly to you. You will have to speak very quickly to get your message across, so use words such as “Killed” or “Saved”.
Once you have used the phone system to contact the BGRR, if you cannot speak, the volunteers will arrange for someone to speak for you. That person will use words such as “Beware of Dog”, “Run Away”, or “Calm Down”.
If you have a Golden Retriever that has been abandoned, you should take some time to think about the possible reasons behind the abandonment.
If you find out something about the abandonment, you can decide whether or not it is the right thing to do. If you are not sure what to do, you can go back and try to set things right again, perhaps with the help of a professional dog trainer. Some people simply want to get rid of their Golden Retriever because they are sick, and others want to get rid of a puppy that barks too much. In these cases, you can use the same Golden Retriever rescue tips that you would if you were trying to get your dog back in a matter of hours.
If your Golden Retriever has recently been adopted, you should know some of the things that can make him or her happier. One way to tell if the dog is happier is to tell him or her a long sentence, followed immediately by a shorter one. For example, if you tell your Golden Retriever “sit”, immediately follow that command with “down”. If your Golden Retriever does not obey your command, then he or she might be happy, but you can bet that it will take several attempts to train the dog to sit down before giving up.
Now let’s talk about getting your dog’s attention.
One of the biggest problems of Golden Retriever rescue dogs is that they have not been socialized by people. You can tell if a Golden Retriever is not interacting with people if he or she is constantly sniffing, lunging for attention, and jumping up on visitors. If your Golden Retriever has not been socialized to visitors, it is important to start that process today.
One of the easiest ways to start this process is to tell your new puppy or adult retriever a long, complete sentence. The longest Golden Retriever sentence I have used is “come, sit down, get in the chair”. This sentence could be used before the word “come” or after if desired. Remember to emphasize the first word, “come” or “sit”, as well as the end of the sentence, “get in the chair”. These sentences will get your retriever’s attention and will help him or she connects what you want him or her to do with being a good companion.
